The most likely deal

Pelicans receive: SF Andrew Wiggins, No. 2 overall pick

Warriors receive: Jrue Holiday, No. 13 overall pick

This feels like the best deal for both sides.

The Pelicans get a baller. Wiggins, while not always efficient and not overly impressively, has averaged over 20 points per game three times in his six-year career. Wiggins has also now shot over 33 percent from deep his last four seasons. He’s improving.

Along with Wiggins, the Pelicans acquire the Warriors’ No. 2 overall pick. James Wiseman is another name that could available and a trio of Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Wiseman would create a nasty frontcourt.

For the Pelicans, they deal Holiday, who has made two appearances on the All-Defensive team. Holiday is a star, but he’s not going to grow old with this young Pelicans roster. He can, however, help make the Warriors a top-tier contender right now.

Swap the picks, swap the players — that’s as easy as it has to be. It makes sense for both parties, even though some may say both are giving up too much.
