1. James Wiseman

If he had played a full collegiate season, James Wiseman might be the unrivaled No. 1 prospect in the 2020 NBA Draft. Instead, the big fella has a ton of questions to answer at the NBA level before being a star.

Pros

The fact remains, Wiseman has all the makings of a star defender. He is a physical wonder with his size and athleticism. Wiseman looked like a man amongst boys in college and will continue to be a force even against bigger opponents.

Wiseman rejected 3.0 shots per game in his short collegiate run and will transition easily to the NBA. The Warriors would be able to rely on Wiseman to protect the paint and lead the team in rebounding right away.

Around the rim, Wiseman will finish just about every look. He doesn’t have great post moves yet but is working hard to perfect his craft in the paint. There is no doubt Wiseman will be a double-double machine from day one with the Dubs.

Cons

There are questions about his ability to read the floor. This will only look worse due to his limited time in college and a rushed offseason. The lack of a Summer League will hurt how Wiseman looks in his first season.

He also needs to prove he can move his feet on the perimeter to refrain from being a detriment in pick-and-rolls. Lastly, Wiseman must expand his range outside of the paint on offense – something he hasn’t done just yet.

Nonetheless, Wiseman is a seamless fit with the Warriors and has the easiest path to success out of any center in his class.
