The Golden State Warriors have some tough decisions to make coming up as the 2020 NBA Draft is now under ten days away.

The Golden State Warriors finished with the worst record in the league last season. Some of that can be attributed to five games with Stephen Curry. Klay Thompson didn’t see the floor all season either.

Four games into the season, Steph Curry broke his wrist against the Phoenix Suns. He returned near the end of the season for a game but wouldn’t play again due to the virus hitting and suspending the league.

As for Klay Thompson, most Warriors fans don’t want to be reminded as he has been out for more than a year now. Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

With these two players back next season, the Warriors are looking for a player who can help them get back to the Finals. Onyeka Okongwu is that player.

Who is Onyeka Okongwu?

Onyeka Okongwu is a player many people may not know right off the bat. He’s not a James Wiseman or LaMelo Ball player in terms of a polarizing superstar.  Onyeka went to Chino Hills High School and played with draft classmate LaMelo Ball.

From Chino Hills, Onyeka went on to play at the University of Southern California, where he started all 28 games for the Trojans. Number 21 stands 6-foot-9 and has a 7-foot-1 wingspan. Okongwu also weighs 245 pounds.

He averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks a game all as a freshman. Onyeka is currently projected to go anywhere between the third overall pick to the ninth in multiple mock drafts.
