Before the 2020 NBA Draft takes place, let’s look at which guards should be at the top of the Golden State Warriors wishlist.

As we steadily approach the 2020 NBA Draft, we are taking a deeper look into each position the Golden State Warriors could target. We’ve already covered centers and wings, now it’s time to finish this series of articles off by analyzing the guards.

The guard position isn’t exactly an area of need for the Warriors. Their backcourt already consists of a two-time MVP in Stephen Curry and an all-time great 3-and-D threat in Klay Thompson. This duo alone is enough to rely on for a deep playoff run.

However, the second unit is lacking with only Ky Bowman serving as the backup to Curry and inexperienced players like Jordan Poole, Damion Lee and Mychal Mulder replacing Thompson. Finding suitable bench players in the offseason will be key to keeping Thompson and Curry fresh throughout the year.

Thankfully, this year’s draft is loaded with talent at the guard position. Many of the top prospects are backcourt players, giving the Warriors plenty of options to choose from. Let’s rank the five best guards in the 2020 NBA Draft.
