4. LaMelo Ball

I personally think LaMelo Ball has the highest upside of any player in the 2020 NBA Draft (aside from maybe Anthony Edwards). But, I also think he has the potential to be a disaster. For this reason, he ranks fourth on our list today.

Pros

It’s hard to overstate how talented a passer Ball is. He displays the type of court vision that you don’t see very often in basketball. His playmaking is bordering on the level of Chris Paul, LeBron James and Trae Young.

Add in the fact that Ball is a 6’8″ point guard who is rapidly growing into his frame and Ball can be a force to be reckoned with. He is already shifty and creative when attacking the rim. Can you imagine if his 3-point shooting becomes a consistent weapon?

Cons

Of course, that is one of the biggest downsides to Ball’s game. He isn’t an efficient shooter yet. He is extremely streaky and his shot selection is enough to frustrate anybody watching. Ball also lacks attentiveness on defense that could ruin any of the potential he has on offense.

Nonetheless, Ball has incredible upside as a point generator. The Warriors likely won’t be the team to take a chance on him – but someone gladly will.
