Houston, we have a problem. For the Golden State Warriors, that problem could be spun positively as the NBA Draft comes within a week away.

The Houston Rockets are imploding this offseason. After their second-round loss to the Lakers in the playoff, the team won’t come back the same. The Golden State Warriors could capitalize on their struggles.

The first domino to fall to was the exodus of Mike D’Antoni. Daryl Morey also stepped down as general manager. The structure of the Rockets team and how they played was in freefall as the organization looked for new leadership.

Now, it’s not just the leadership.

Russell Westbrook wants out according to Shams Charania. While Westbrook’s fit on any team that’s not solely his team will always be up in question, he’ll likely be one of several Rockets that step up and are unhappy with their current or former role on the team.

The Rockets, over the last few seasons, have been a great contender, but they haven’t gotten over the hump of being a true title contender. They just aren’t there yet and their style of play may never get there, one reason their management may have called it quits on the process.

The implosion has begun, and let’s dive into how it may impact Golden State.
