One less contender to worry about

The Golden State Warriors, despite being a 15-win team this past season, still have their memories of the dominant Houston Rockets franchises.

In back-to-back seasons, the Warriors were pushed to the edge by Houston, and if it weren’t for a miraculous half from Stephen Curry, they likely would’ve beaten them a season ago.

Their seven-game series in the 2018 postseason was just as entertaining and also almost finished with a Houston series victory. Thankfully, both of them didn’t. The Rockets pushed the Warriors to the brink of implosion themselves.

Their teams were not a joke, and when on fire, they were virtually unguardable. The small-ball, heavy-shooting lineups oftentimes did get them in trouble though. It’s a tough line and one that the Rockets barely fell short of time and time again.

Thankfully, if the implosion does happen, the Warriors can kiss future postseason series with Houston goodbye as they may truly take themselves out of title contention. However, with the right moves this offseason, they could also become a more lethal foe for the foreseeable future.
