4. Wesley Matthews

There once was a time when Wesley Matthews was perhaps the best 3-and-D player in the NBA. Does the aging vet have any gas left in the tank?

Pros

The Milwaukee Bucks placed a heavy load on Wesley Matthew’s shoulders last season. He started in all 67 games and was expected to be the floor spacer needed to open paths for Giannis Antetokounmpo while also defending the opposing team’s best guards.

While the 33-year-old didn’t light it up from deep, he did connect on a solid 36.4 percent of his near 300 attempts. He managed to hold his own on both ends of the floor and can do the same in a smaller role for the Warriors.

Cons

Obviously, the biggest concern is that Matthews’ time in the league is ticking. He has overcome many of his earlier injuries but there is no telling how much longer the aging guard will remain effective.

Furthermore, it should be noted that Matthews practically disappeared in the postseason for the Bucks last year, only hitting 5-of-15 attempts from deep in a collapse to the Miami Heat. The Warriors can’t afford to have anyone crumble under the pressure next season if they want to win a title.
