Golden State Warriors: Ranking 6 best guards to target in FA
By Tony Pesta
3. Trey Burke
Trey Burke was a member of an all-time great offense last year. Will he be able to bring this same energy to the Golden State Warriors?
Pros
The Dallas Mavericks posted the highest offensive rating per 100 possesions of all-time last season. Much of this was due to the incredible Luka Doncic – but his supporting cast is what made this feat possible.
Burke was late to the party, joining the Mavericks deep into their season. Still, he exploded for 31 points in his first game with the team and averaged 12.3 points on 47.5 percent shooting from the 3-point line. He is a pure scorer who can light it up with the second unit in Golden State.
Cons
Burke stands at 6’0″, making him one of the shortest players in the league. This has always hurt him defensively and certainly won’t help the Warriors.
Furthermore, Burke is as streaky as they come. His performances vary drastically and this type of inconsistency could bite the Dubs in the long run.
