Houston Rockets — Robert Covington

From the Sixers to the Timberwolves to the potentially-imploding Rockets, Robert Covington has been dealt around the last few seasons. It’s not because he’s expendable but because Covington has proven to be one of the best 3-and-D players in the league.

Covington spent the first six seasons in the league as a small forward. He’s 6-foot-7 and, despite having a massive wingspan, isn’t necessarily a top-tier rebounder.

For Houston, that didn’t matter. He was labeled as a center in their small-ball lineup. He had his worth season since his rookie year in Houston, and with Mike D’Antoni out, it may be time for the Rockets to blow it up and restart their system.

If Covington is dealt, the Warriors should be a top contender. He is among the most disruptive defenders in the league and averages 2.3 triples per game on his career. He’s the quintessential addition for the Warriors frontcourt.
