Los Angeles Clippers — Patrick Beverley

The Golden State Warriors, as we’ve stated, are looking for a backup point guard. There’s not a single better option than the gritty Patrick Beverley. While many hate when their team plays him, Beverley is among the best defensive guards in the game.

He’s far from a solid offensive player, but he has improved his shooting enough to be respected from downtown. Playing with the Clippers this past season, Beverley averaged just over two quarters per game and managed 7.9 points per game.

On the All-Defensive team three times throughout his career, Beverley isn’t the most prolific defender in terms of steals or blocks, but he is well-respected as one of the toughest in the league. As for his shooting, he’s shot over 38 percent from deep for five straight seasons.

That’s good enough to be a capable weapon, something Golden State would use well. Beverley’s cost is rather unknown, but he is under a contract that would fit under the trade exception for the next two seasons.
