Golden State Warriors: One pre-draft trade target from every NBA team
Oklahoma City Thunder — Dennis Schroder
The Oklahoma City Thunder had the player that should’ve been the league’s Sixth Man of the Year in Dennis Schroder. He averaged 18.9 points per game this past season playing behind Chris Paul. That total was the second-highest of his career.
One of the league’s quickest guards, Schroder benefits from a lightning-fast first step. While he is undersized at 6-foot-1, Schroder has managed to improve his efficiency, shooting over 46 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep.
The Thunder were 7.8 points per game better with Schroder on the court. Schroder was a reason for the Thunder being a playoff team this past season, pushing the Rockets to seven games in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs.
While it’s unknown if the Warriors plan to use their trade exception, that’s just another thing to love about the 26-year-old guard. His contract would fall under the exception with one year left on his deal at $15.5 million. It’s generally speaking the perfect time to use the extension.
