Utah Jazz — Rudy Gobert

Rudy Gobert pissed just about everyone off when he seemingly took Covid-19 as a joke just as the season was heading for a suspension. The league was out for a few months and the relationships have since mellowed out, for now.

Gobert is among the best defenders in the league, but oftentimes team chemistry matters more. The four-time All-Defensive team member and two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Gobert has averaged over two blocks per game for the last six straight seasons.

The NBA is about shooting threes and getting to the rim. With Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, the Warriors can ensure that teams don’t get open looks from deep, but they’re struggling to find size and rim protection.

If the cost is Draymond Green for both teams to retool their style of play, is it worth it? Most may say yes, but Green’s playmaking may be more impactful than they realize. It’s a tough decision and one which Golden State would likely have to do more to complete.

Gobert is set to make over $25 million next season so any deal would have to include one of the Warriors four max contract players.
