A variation of No. 2

Here’s a third possible deal that could be on the table, and it also makes sense for both parties. This should be the one that Golden State wants the most as it gets rid of two picks that would likely have ended up as either two-way players or in the G-League anyway.

The Warriors have 13 players on their roster. If you include a mid-level exception signing and the second-overall pick, the Warriors are at 15. They have no real need for the accumulation of second-round draft picks they have.

The team could use another weapon like Love.

While Wiggins’ fit has many fans excited, it may be better to get a veteran like Love. While he’s not the best defender, neither is Wiggins, and the team can fix that by trading back in the draft and bringing in an elite 3-and-D prospect.

Two second-round picks to help the Cavaliers depth of talent now could be what is needed for the team to continue to have an abundance of potential.

With Wiggins significantly younger than Love and the picks coming this season, this trade would help the Cavaliers immediately continue their rebuild. Outside of the Draymond Green deal, all of these would help expedite the Cavaliers’ process.
