. 4. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. G. LaMelo Ball. player. 24

LaMelo Ball is the hardest player to judge in the 2020 NBA Draft. There is an extremely good chance he ends up being an absolute bust – but, he could also be the NBA’s next transcendent point guard. For the Chicago Bulls, the chance of the latter could be all it takes for them to buy into Ball.

What makes Ball such a special prospect? Well, he is hands down the best playmaker in his class. He is a basketball visionary, with a natural feel for the game and a comfort level with the basketball that we don’t normally see from a player this young.

Ball is going to create plays at a high-level from day one. His shiftiness and relentless attack will cause some unwarranted turnovers but he will make up for those mistakes with homerun plays that create highlights every night.

The biggest concerns for Ball are 3-point shooting and defense. He has been a streaky shooter since high school and has never really been an engaged defender. Developing these two skills will be the difference between Ball being a bust or a star.
