The Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls have got the ball rolling on a trade that could bring Wendell Carter Jr. to the Bay Area.

A top-ten pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Wendell Carter Jr. could be on the move within the next day. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, Carter Jr. is being discussed in a trade that would also bring in the No. 4 pick for the Golden State Warriors.

The return for Chicago would be just the No. 2 overall pick in the Wednesday night draft. This deal would make sense for both parties as the Warriors have a plethora of beloved prospects to go along with a big-time need for size.

The Warriors’ tallest player is 6-foot-10, and even their projected starting center Marquese Chriss isn’t quite the traditional big man. Behind him is Kevon Looney, who has played the bulk of his career at power forward.

Adding a player that would give them both size and rim protection should be paramount.

Furthermore, the Warriors have several players they’ve shown interest in.

Without much high-level talent in this draft, the Warriors will be able to get a player they love at No. 4. Whether it be Deni Avdija, James Wiseman, Anthony Edwards or Tyrese Haliburton, the options will be there for Golden State.

What’s clear now is that the Bulls have a player they want, and they’re will to part with a high-potential player to get said prospect. It’s likely either Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball, both of which are expected to go back-to-back at the top of the draft.

They desperately want them too, especially if they’re willing to give up Carter Jr. The 21-year-old averaged 11.3 points per game and shot over 50 percent from the field last season. He has potential, and the Bulls may realize that as well.

This is a deal that should be an automatic yes for the Warriors, especially given how much they’ve shown interest in the prospects that could be available at No. 4.
