Cassius Winston, PG, Michigan State, Senior

The hooper from Detroit, Michigan balled out in his four college seasons.

As a senior, he leads the Spartans to a first-place finish in the Big Ten conference right before the pandemic hit. Winston is one of the most respected players in college basketball history and was terrific throughout his career.

In his senior season, Winston found out hours before the game that his brother Zachary Winston passed away. Winston would go on to lead the Spartans over Binghamton 100-47 in a very emotional game.

At 6-foot-1, Winston plays with his heart on his sleeve, and that’s not always a bad thing. He gives  110 percent every time he steps on the floor, and it never goes unnoticed. In terms of skill and talent, he has that as well.

Winston averaged some pretty impressive numbers over his four-year college career.

In 139 career games with the Spartan, Cassius averaged 14.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists a game.

Those numbers are low due to his playing time in his first two seasons, as many would probably agree his last two were his best. Over the span of four years, Winston also shot 43 percent from three on four attempts a game.

The way that he plays and with the talent he has, he may be the steal of the 2020 NBA draft. He would also fit in perfectly with the Golden State Warriors and be an amazing backup to Stephen Curry.
