Cassius Stanley, SF, Duke, Freshman

One of the most explosive, and high flying players in this draft may be available when the Warriors pick in the second round. Cassius Stanley, a 6-foot-6 freshman from Duke could be a diamond in the rough for the Warriors.

Stanley was highly recruited coming out of high school but didn’t have the season many thought he would at Duke.

Stanley is, however, extremely athletic and raw. He still has so much of his game that has yet to be unlocked. The young forward has showed flashes of his high-potential scoring ability.

In the 2020 college basketball season, Stanley averaged 12 points, nearly five rebounds, and one assist a game. Do not let the numbers fool you though. Stanley does have a unique ability to create plays for others.

Stanley also showed his ability to shoot, and how much he can improve from beyond the arc. On three attempts a game, Cassius shot 34 percent from three. That isn’t great, but it is promising.

Stanley has the potential to blossom into a great perimeter defender, especially with the crazy athleticism he has.
