Wow, just when it seemed the Golden State Warriors’ season was hanging on by a thread – Kelly Oubre Jr. is here to save the day.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been on the Golden State Warriors‘ radar for a few months now. With the season in jeopardy due to Klay Thompson’s injury – the Dubs decided to pull the trigger and bring Oubre to the squad.

The Warriors managed to do this without giving up the No. 2 pick in the draft like many assumed they would. Instead, the Dubs held onto the pick and selected James Wiseman – a towering center who can impact the team on both ends of the floor.

As for Oubre, they sent over a 2021 First Round pick that is top 20 protected. Meaning, if the pick lands inside the top 20 – the Warriors maintain possession and instead send over two Secon Round picks.

This might seem like a questionable deal for the Thunder who are already loaded with future picks. But, we have to imagine Oubre might have expressed disinterest in resigning with the Thunder at year’s end. It’s much more likely he stays with the Dubs.

Anyways, now that Oubre is officially on the team – let’s look at three reasons why he might end up being their saving grace.
