Klay Thompson has a serious lower leg injury, and it’s not looking good for the Golden State Warriors’ five-time All-star guard.

The Golden State Warriors fanbase was so very excited to see Klay Thompson return to the court in just over a month. Then, just hours before the draft, the Warriors and fans everywhere got word that he may have a ruptured Achilles.

You know it’s bad when members of the organization and headed to from San Francisco to Los Angeles to be there with Klay when he has his MRI. Let’s just say they’re not expecting good results.

It’s been almost 18 months since Thompson’s initial injury, and that rehab has to be mentally draining. He’ll potentially prepare for another tedious path ahead. That said, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne noted that he’ll be having his MRI tomorrow.

It’s devasting for a player that ended the 2018-2019 season with a torn ACL. He had five straight All-Star appearances till that. He’s had an impressive career so far with five straight seasons averaging over 20 points per game.

He’s also shot over 40 percent from deep in each of his seasons in the league. Being one of the best defenders as well, it won’t be easy to supplement Thompson’s impact. That said, let’s dive into three ways it will affect the Warriors moving forward.
