Put Finals aspirations in jeopardy

The Golden State Warriors had 15 wins last season. It was an absolutely brutal few months as fans were just reminiscing on the good times that were behind them. They hoped for good times ahead as well.

Now, those are in serious jeopardy. After helping the team have the best year in NBA history during the 2015-2016 season, Thompson is a decorated winner as well with three NBA titles to his name.

He’s been incredible throughout his career, and it’s not a skill set that Golden State can just replace. Thompson is arguably the league’s best two-way player when healthy. That’s why not having him on the court will change this team drastically.

He’s that good, and without him, the Warriors may not have much of a shot at the NBA Finals. They’ll still be a playoff team, but there’s no telling how well this roster will mesh with No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman in the rotation.
