Will force a trade or someone to step up

The Golden State Warriors do not have much time to waste. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are now both in their 30s. They do have a few up-and-coming prospects, but they need to hurry.

The team’s championship window is closing. They’ve been to the Finals in five of the last six seasons. The Warriors have had Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant in three of those six seasons. They lost Durant during the 2019 offseason.

The team knew the 2019-2020 season was going to be a wash, but they didn’t know this upcoming season would be as well. Without Thompson, they’ll have to have someone like Jordan Poole or Damion Lee step up.

They could use also the mid-level exception to bring in a player like Avery Bradley as it seems more and more likely that they won’t be trading James Wiseman, their most-recent star addition. Either way, they must add another player to supplement what will be lost by Thompson’s injury.
