JaVale McGee

There aren’t many reasons to have non-shooting big men in the NBA anymore. Of course, that is unless you plan on beating teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets on the way to an NBA Finals run.

The Golden State Warriors found their interior presence in James Wiseman – but it wouldn’t hurt to have a backup option like JaVale McGee. His veteran experience makes him valuable and we already know how McGee can thrive as a rim-runner under this Warriors’ system as he already did it during two title runs.

McGee is going to block shots, snag rebounds and cram alley-oop dunks frequently for the Warriors. While his lack of a 3-point shot will stop him from being on the floor in most cases, there are rare circumstances (such as playing against Anthony Davis and Nikola Jokic) where he could be useful.

The Dubs might be able to find other players that will be more reliable than McGee but if they strike out elsewhere – signing McGee for the low isn’t a bad idea.
