Joe Harris

The Warriors almost had no chance at Joe Harris given that his final contract was for four years and $75 million. Given that they have four max-level players already, the Warriors’ best chance to snag the sharpshooter would’ve been through a sign-and-trade.

Harris, a 29-year-old former second-round pick, re-signed with the Nets after averaging a career-high in points last season. It wasn’t just his scoring, but it was his ability to space the court.

On top of the 14.5 points per game he averaged, Harris also notched 2.5 triples per game. Two seasons ago, he was shooting over 47 percent from deep and kept that at over 42 percent throughout last season.

With Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, the Nets needed shooting, and they got it by retaining Harris. It was a necessary move for a team looking to contend with several stars already on their roster.

All three of these players would’ve thrived with the Warriors, but as fate has it, they could’ve bring any of them to the Bay Area.
