James Wiseman

Grade: A

There wasn’t a better option in the 2020 NBA Draft. James Wiseman is going to have an instant impact on the Golden State Warriors and could even squeeze in some Rookie of the Year Votes if he is able to capitalize on the opportunity in front of him.

The Warriors are going to ask Wiseman to do three things; Block shots, rebound the ball and convert looks around the rim. Most of his points will be served on a platter from Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. It doesn’t get much easier than that for the 7-foot freakish athlete.

As for the rest of his game, Wiseman just has to be committed to learning rotations and giving effort each night. That shouldn’t be hard with Green barking in his ear every night to play to his full potential.

Wiseman hasn’t shown to be much of a shooter yet but the mechanics are there and the training staff will certainly work with him to improve. At his peak, Wiseman can be an elite two-way contributor for the Warriors one day.
