Given Klay Thompson’s injury, the Golden State Warriors have had a rather hectic offseason, one in which they’ve yet to use their mid-level exception.

The MLE is supposed to one of the best assets the Golden State Warriors have. Pinned up against the salary cap, the Warriors didn’t have many options unless they wanted to take severe luxury tax penalties.

Well, it looks like Joe Lacob and the ownership group’s pockets are as deep as we hoped. They went and added Kelly Oubre Jr., who is set to make $14 million but cost around four times that in tax penalties.

Even though the team used the trade exception, if they want to further their roster despite going further into debt, they’ll continue adding players that would thrive in the Bay Area. With the MLE, they could do that if they desired to.

However, many of their top mid-level exception targets are already off the board with free agency have kicked off a few days ago. While the bulk of big-time players like Brandon Ingram are just now signing, many of the small yet important role players have already inked their deal.

That said, let’s dive into three players the Warriors wish they could’ve added this offseason.
