3 Golden State Warriors that must step up in wake of Thompson’s injury

The Golden State Warriors hear devasting news just over a week ago, and now they’ll have to find a way to compensate in the wake of Klay Thompson’s injury.

Last week, every Warriors fan saw their heart sink a bit when they heard that Klay Thompson had suffered another season-ending injury.

Thompson has been a staple of the Warriors franchise for the last nine seasons. Despite not playing last season, Thompson has shot over 40 percent from three and has stepped up as a dominant force on both ends of the court.

He’s recorded five straight All-Star appearances and notched over both 20 points per game and three triples per game in each.

He’s currently 18th in three-pointers made in league history. Thompson’s been a staple of consistency, and he was formerly known as an ironman as he was the one nursing the team as Stephen Curry was oftentimes out.

Now, the pendulum has flipped as Thompson’s out. In wake of his injury, the Warriors, who have far from given up on the season, need some players to step up. Let’s look into who must play a more critical role now with Thompson out for the foreseeable future.
