Jordan Poole

The Golden State Warriors first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Jordan Poole had a wobbly rookie season. He started off ice cold.

The speed and the size of the NBA clearly got to him and his playmaking took a drastic hit. Even Steve Kerr knew he wasn’t ready, but he had little option when it came to offensive weapons when Curry was ruled out after the fourth game of the season.

The 6-foot-4 guard ended on a hot streak. He hit double figures in 12 of his last 13 games. Poole had just 13 other games of double figures. He was starting to figure it out right as the league was suspended due to Covid-19.

Poole hit over two threes in seven of those 13 outings as well. He improved tremendously and a short stint dominating the G-League may have helped. Poole should be expected to explode in his second season.

He’ll be a backup shooting guard this season, and he’ll have a role, one which he must play efficiently to keep. Both the Warriors and the second-year Poole are banking on an efficient play for this season to go smoothly.
