5. Doug McDermott
With Klay Thompson down, the Golden State Warriors have only one active splash brother. Doug McDermott might not be a full-fledged flamethrower from deep like Thompson – but he is a more than worthy catch-and-shoot threat.
McDermott has shot above 40 percent from the 3-point line in 4-of-6 career seasons. Since 2015, McDermott has connected on 41.5 percent of over 1,000 total 3-point attempts – ranking among the league-best during this stretch.
In terms of spotting up for a 3-point shot, it’s hard to find better options than McDermott. He made a career-high 128 total 3-pointers for the Indiana Pacers last year and can have similar results in Golden State.
While he may not be anywhere near the defender Thompson was, McDermott can play a vital role as a floor-spacer with the second unit. Seeing as how Indiana is on the verge of a firesale, McDermott could become available for a low price.
