Warriors: 5 Giannis Antetokounmpo trades as Bucks uncertainty continues
No. 5
Bucks receive: 2021 first-round pick (MIN), 2022 first-round pick, James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins
Warriors receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
This one feels like the most partial to Golden State. They could toss in a few more first-round picks or pick swaps, but this is where the start is and that’s because there could easily be enough here to entice Milwaukee.
The 2021 first-round pick is top-four protected, but the Wolves should be an average team, so that should be a lottery selection in one of the deepest drafts in recent history.
Add the team’s No. 2 overall pick and Wiggins who is a proven scorer in the league, and it’s at the very least a competent package. There’s likely little player adding that would intrigue Milwaukee, but several more picks could do the trick.
After all, Giannis is coming off a campaign where he was, while disputed by many, the Defensive Player of the Year and the Most Valuable Player. He’s been incredible, but leading the Bucks deep into the playoffs hasn’t been easy for the 25-year-old.
He averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game — showcasing exactly how valuable he is. That said, this is a low-ball offer, but the next few will show a better representation that isn’t a starting block for a trade.
