No. 1
Bucks receive: Draymond Green, Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole, James Wiseman, 2021 first-round pick (MIN), 2023 first-round pick
Warriors receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
This could be the trade of all trades.
You have a three-time All-Star and three-time champion. While Green’s numbers haven’t been great these last few seasons, pair him with Lopez, Holiday, and a plethora of young talent, and you’ll have a contending roster. But, it’s not just Green.
Add Paschall, Poole, and Wiseman to the deal, and the Bucks’ future is also stacked with talent, especially if Wiseman does become of the best centers in the NBA like Golden State clearly thinks he can be.
The two first-round picks are the sweetener that makes this deal tough to turn down. As we’ve noted, that 2021 first-round pick from Minnesota could easily produce a star, and the 2023 pick would at least give the Bucks another young option.
This deal helps both the present and the future, but as we saw with the Davis’ deal, it will only happen if Giannis forces it to happen.
The Warriors could match what the Lakers gave for Davis if that’s a deal the Bucks would take. However, all this still rests on Giannis wanting out, and that may not happen as long as the Bucks front office is making a push to get him the personnel he needs.
