Nicolas Batum — Planning to sign with Charlotte once waivers clear

Reports are coming out that after he clears waivers, Nicolas Batum is going to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. For a two with two two-way small forwards already on their roster, Batum would give them the option to play three lengthy, defensive-minded options.

That’s the same reason why the Golden State Warriors should want the coveted small forward. Either Batum or Robinson could come in and give the Warriors a good option that isn’t Andrew Wiggins.

Just 31, Batum has had a rocky career. On some legendary Portland teams back in the day, Batum has spent the last five seasons with the Hornets. In his second season in Charlotte, Batum neared 16 points per game. This past season, he barely reached three in a mere 22 games.

Having shot just 43.4 percent from the field in his career, Batum has struggled at times to shoot efficiently which should be a minor problem for any team looking to add him. That said, his struggles may make the Warriors missing out actually a good thing.

All six, now five, could be good options for the Warriors and should see at least some attention from the franchise that’s been to five Finals in the last six seasons.
