He’s a pure scorer that can thrive off the bench

Shooting guard Lou Williams has made a living coming off the bench and igniting his team’s roster. He’s started a total of 28 games in the past three seasons despite averaging over 18 points per game in each.

While his scoring has declined from 22 to 20 to 18 over the past three seasons as well, Williams is aging, so his numbers are going to dip. Williams is an elite option off the bench, and the Warriors have little of that.

Jordan Poole is a risk. Like many of their bench options, he’s young and inexperienced.

Williams is the opposite of that, and he could provide they’ll need it in the postseason. Williams is the perfect player to put in the game when Curry needs a breather. He’s a ball-dominant option that has averaged over 15 points per game for the last five-plus years.

Another part of Williams’ game is that he can shoot at an elite level. He averaged 1.7 threes per game last season and shot over 35 percent from deep. With passionate play and big-time shot-making experience, Williams ability to score makes him an ideal trade option.
