The Golden State Warriors are going to be good, but it will take something special for them to be great. With three steps, they’ll be able to get there.

This offseason was a rather interesting one for the Golden State Warriors. After a 15-win season, they had hope that they’d bounce back and be as good as they had been.

While that could still be the case, the twist was thrown in their offseason plans as Klay Thompson, a five-time All-Star shooting guard and one of the best two-way players in the league, tore his Achilles.

Thompson missed all of last season after tearing his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Happening just days prior to the 2020 NBA Draft, the Warriors went ahead with center James Wiseman.

Whether he was the pick due to Thompson’s injury or was the favorite all along could be disputed, but the fact remains that the former Memphis center is now a Warrior. The team has added players like Kelly Oubre Jr. and Brad Wanamaker as well.

The Warriors will be good. This team, with Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry all healthy, needs to be great, and they can be. That said, let’s dive into three ways they can go from good to great.
