Small Forward: Kelly Oubre Jr

Although Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. both play the same position, the Klay Thompson injury will force the positions to shuffle around quite a bit, and the two will split the small forward and shooting guard roles.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is a very bright young star who could be an impact player for the Warriors in what will be his first season with the team.

More from Blue Man Hoop

Oubre Jr, 24, was acquired by the Warriors via a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder for a protected 2021 first-round draft selection.

Oubre Jr. is going to be a big difference-maker for the Warriors and his presence on the team gives the Warriors a bit more bench depth as Damion Lee will now get to come off the bench and produce.

The Dubs dug quite a luxury tax hole by adding Oubre Jr. so they’re really expecting him to produce some high-level numbers.

Oubre Jr. played in 56 games last season and averaged 18.7 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game.

He will fit extremely well in the fast-paced, positionless scheme the Warriors run due to his ability to switch and rotate very well. Oubre Jr. will not only likely get the opportunity to start in Golden State, but he will also likely thrive in their system.
