The Warriors and every other NBA team may have a tough time keeping Covid-19 out of their camp, so they may want to already prepare for the worst.

It was supposed to be one gap season that the Golden State Warriors took off, and that’s exactly what they plan to do. However, many had imagined that the team may toss in the towel after hearing news that Klay Thompson went down with yet another season-ending injury.

Thompson, a five-time All-Star and one of the best shooting guards in league history, tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. He rehabbed that, and just weeks before the season commences, he has now torn his Achilles.

A brutal blow for a player loved by so many fans, the Warriors will have to push through, one reason they added Kelly Oubre Jr. They also drafted James Wiseman with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to help bolster their frontcourt.

This team will be competitive, much more so than their 15-win season last year. With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green rested and healthy, the Warriors should have a fighting chance, but Covid-19 may change all of that.

As we’ve seen in the NFL, teams like the Broncos and Ravens were derailed from their strategy in many games due to the standards the league is holding itself to regarding the virus. While a vaccine is in the pipeline, teams will be impacted by Covid-19 this season.

That said, depth will be crucial, and these three players must step up for the Warriors.
