The Golden State Warriors recently selected James Wiseman with their second overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft. This move helps them for the foreseeable future, especially after losing Klay Thompson for another full season.

Just hours before the 2020 NBA draft started, the Warriors got a call about a scary incident involving star player Klay Thompson.

There was hope it was nothing serious, but the concern for a significant injury outweighed the positives. It was reported that Thompson was working out and injured his lower left leg, opposite of the one with a torn ACL from the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

James Wiseman was Golden State’s second overall pick in this year’s draft. A player that only played three college games at Memphis under coach Penny Hardaway. In those three games, he showed his dominance on the defensive end and his offensive potential.

Now with Stephen Curry back from a wrist injury that allowed him only to play five total games last season, this Warriors team could be at full force except for Thompson who will be out the entirety of the season.

With some other moves made this offseason, the Warriors showed they are ready to compete again. Trading for Kelly Oubre Jr. was huge and allowed Golden State to fill the void of Klay Thompson as much as possible.

While the Warriors had a great offseason, they didn’t have the best. Some would give that title to the Los Angeles Lakers this time around and rightfully so. They have returned to the team they once were in a decadent free-agent destination.

The Lakers are back to being an organization with a great front office, coaching, players, and money.

They are now the team that the Warriors have been the past few seasons, meaning that they get the right veteran players for real low and restore their careers in a way. Let’s take a look at what the Lakers did this offseason and how it affects the Warriors.
