How the Lakers moves affect the Warriors

Before the Klay Thompson injury, the Golden State Warriors were considered one of the teams at the top of the Western Conference like they were not too long ago. However, losing Thompson for another full year may derail their chances at winning a championship, especially in a stacked Western Conference.

The Warriors were able to add some pieces this offseason to help cope with their loss. It is showing that they still want to compete and win now.

The Lakers could pull in a great veteran player for cheap, much like the Warriors used to do. With the size the Lakers added, and the Warriors being somewhat of a smaller team, their acquisitions could be what stands between the Warriors and a Finals appearance.

The league seems to be trending back towards a “Big Dominant” league, and the Lakers now have plenty. While the Warriors did take a potentially great big man in the draft, he is not yet of Davis, Harrell, and Gasol’s talent.

Dennis Schroder also gives the Lakers a great defender running off screens, which is what Stephen Curry loves to do. Schroder showed his ability to do it in Oklahoma City and can also play the passing lanes exceptionally well.

His scoring ability may give the Warriors trouble when guarded by Curry, who we know is not the best defender.

While the Laker may have won the last championship and this offseason, the Warriors may have something to say about it during the season.
