Golden State Warriors: 5 trade targets the team shouldn’t pass on
Derrick Rose
After multiple ACLs injuries, Derrick Rose is back. This past season, he played in 50 games and started 15 of them. He averaged 18.1 points per game last season and was at 18.0 points per game the season before that.
The Warriors wanted to make securing a backup point guard a priority, and they went out and signed Brad Wanamaker during free agency. Rose is a better option for what they need from a backup on their second unit.
While it wasn’t the same this past season, Rose did shoot 37 percent from deep the prior year. He also barely missed shooting 50 percent from the field this past season. A former MVP, Rose has the tools to help Golden State succeed.
His consistency could be an issue. The Warriors need production, and they’ll need it almost every game from their backup point guard. Rose hasn’t topped 55 games in a season throughout the past three seasons, and he has had multiple, significant lower leg injuries.
He’s also able to fit under the DPE which does make him an attractive target.
