3 Disasters Golden State Warriors must avoid next season
By Tony Pesta
Disaster is lurking on the horizon. Here are three doomsday preparations the Golden State Warriors should be making for next season.
As fate would have it, the Golden State Warriors haven’t had very good luck in avoiding disaster recently. Their chance of a three-peat in 2019 was derailed by numerous injuries before they wound up losing Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala in the same offseason.
Shortly after, Stephen Curry fractured his hand and the 2019-20 NBA season was down the drain. Thankfully, the Dubs managed to pull the No. 2 pick in the draft and strike a deal with the Phoenix Suns to acquire Kelly Oubre Jr. in the offseason.
However, optimism didn’t last as Klay Thompson suffered his second-consecutive season-ending injury. This put the Warriors’ hopes of winning a title in jeopardy. It will take near perfection from the current core to win a championship this season.
It doesn’t help that a few more disasters could occur this year. Before the Warriors can lock up another title, they need to avoid these three setbacks.
