1. Over-Reliance on Curry

There’s no way around it, the Golden State Warriors will only go as far as Stephen Curry can elevate them. He is their sole superstar and the driving force behind whether or not they compete for a title or finish in the lottery.

Even so, it’s incredibly important the team doesn’t over-rely on Curry. The 32-year-old guard is entering his 12th NBA season and though he has had nearly a year off from competing – keeping him fresh is just as important as seeing him produce each night.

The Warriors might not be able to win a championship this season even with Curry playing at an absurd rate. Why burn him out this year when they can save him for a reunion with Klay Thompson and go all-in next season?

Nonetheless, it will be difficult to convince Curry – or anyone else on the roster, for that matter – of throwing in the towel this year. We can expect Curry to do everything in his power to win games this season.

Luckily, the Warriors seem to have ingrained the idea of ‘Strength in Numbers’ into their system. While much of the team’s success will be funneled through Curry’s ability to hit shots and create plays, the rest of the roster should be more than capable of filling in where they are needed.
