Wiggins for… Joel Embiid?

Sixers receive: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman

Warriors receive: Joel Embiid

Let’s dive into this deal. The Warriors, with their second-overall pick, added Memphis center, James Wiseman. Throughout his mere three collegiate games, Wiseman averaged three blocks per game to along with over ten rebounds and almost 20 points.

Wiseman was highly considered to be the best prospect in the draft, and he would’ve likely been No. 1 overall if he had played the entire season. His main use for Golden State will be as a rim protector.

That’s partially what Joel Embiid would be. Embiid is a solid defensive option, and he’s also an elite offensive force. After allowing the Sixers to be swept in their first postseason series, Embiid’s time in the City of Brotherly Love, while unlikely to be over, could certainly be on its way.

Embiid averaged 23 points and 11.6 rebounds per game last season. That was also a down season for the superstar center. That said, for the Sixers, they replace Embiid and add a versatile scoring option.

The Warriors add a superstar that should mesh well with Curry and could arguably help lead them back to the NBA Finals.

Verdict: Pass
