Wiggins and assets for the perfect small-ball center

Mavericks receive: Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall

Warriors receive: Kristaps Porzingis

A player the Warriors should actually pursue is a 7-foot-3 power forward Kristaps Porzingis. His stock could be low as Porzingis missed the last few games with a knee injury, a nagging problem for the big man.

Porzingis would be an elite option for the team’s frontcourt, but given his injury history, the Mavericks may be open to trading him. Porzingis missed a full 2018-2019 season and was traded to Dallas during that time.

Starting 57 games this past season, Porzingis averaged over 20 points per game for his second straight season. Sadly, it didn’t result in his second career All-Star appearance. That said, Porzingis’ value likely won’t reel in too much elite talent.

The Warriors have a 2021 first-round pick at their disposal, and they just drafted James Wiseman. Wiseman, Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson could be off-limits. If they can get Porzingis without giving up too much, it’s worth it.

But, if not, they’ll have to pass on the unicorn.

Verdict: Pursue
