The Houston Rockets are on the verge of destruction. How could their implosion impact the Golden State Warriors?

Last season, the Houston Rockets went all-in on their small-ball brand of basketball. They ditched the center position altogether and made one final, wild run to the playoffs in hopes their gamble of chucking 3-pointers would finally pay off. To no surprise, this experiment failed in glorious fashion – leaving the Golden State Warriors and the rest of the league in anticipation of what comes next.

Houston already made the decision to part ways with Russell Westbrook in exchange to acquire John Wall. This makes the Rockets one of the few teams in league history to somehow one-up themselves each year by taking on the league’s worst contracts three times in a row.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem Wall will have much of a chance to gel with James Harden as he already has one foot out the door, and another foot inside of the night club. Harden has shown no interest in competing for the Rockets this year and the Warriors should be rooting for a firesale to take place.

Why? Well, the Rockets have a few assets that could be valuable additions to the Dubs. Could trading for P.J. Tucker help push the Warriors over the top? After all, he is one of the best 3-and-D players the league has to offer.

How about Danuel House? He has shown potential as a catch-and-shoot threat that can also play quality defense. Would the Warriors be interested in trading for him if the opportunity presented itself?

Regardless, moving Harden out of the Western Conference would certainly make the Warriors’ path to another title a bit easier. While the Rockets won’t be the biggest threat to the Dubs’ aspirations, it does help to avoid as many potential playoff clashes as possible.
