Package 7

In order to snag James Harden, it’s going to take a combination of young talent and future draft picks. When looking at recent NBA trades, it’s clear the Golden State Warriors will have to unload all of the draft picks they have to acquire Harden.

Just think, if it took three first-round picks and two additional pick swaps for the Milwaukee Bucks to trade for Jrue Holiday – what is the standard for the league’s leading scorer? With precedents being set in the deals for Paul George and Russell Westbrook, we can expect the Rockets to require a handful of picks in return for their franchise superstar.

By including two young and talented prospects in Andrew Wiggins and Eric Paschall, the Warriors should be able to get away with only including three future picks. This pairing of quality prospects and multiple draft selections might be just enough to convince Houston this deal is worthwhile.

As for the Dubs, they can feel assured they made the right decision when Harden joins Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and James Wiseman for the long haul.
