Package 1

For our last package, let’s analyze a three-team deal where the Denver Nuggets step in to assist this swap between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.

The Rockets will be looking to add a centerpiece to their rebuild if they give up Harden. While Andrew Wiggins is an exciting, athletic prospect – it’s possible we’ve seen all he will ever become. As for Michael Porter Jr., the star potential is through the roof.

Throwing Porter to the Rockets, in addition to Wiggins and a 2021 first round pick will be enough to draw Harden to Golden State. In exchange, the Nuggets would gain pieces from both the Warriors and Rockets in Kelly Oubre Jr. and P.J. Tucker.

The Nuggets gain two assets that can help them compete for a title immediately in turn for an unproven prospect that may never fit with the franchise. As for the Warriors, they manage to snag Harden without giving up anything more than two players and a draft pick. This deal satisfies all three parties in their individual quests.
