The Golden State Warriors have already had two positive cases of Covid-19, and for quite some time, it wasn’t disclosed who they were. Now we know.

With the season just a few weeks away, training camps throughout the league are starting to get going. The Golden State Warriors started their training camp on Monday, and they’ve already run into some issues with players having to be absent.

The team had two positive cases announced prior to camp.

According to Connor Letourneau of the SF Chronicle, James Wiseman and Draymond Green are the two Warriors that tested positive, and they could just be the start of an intense string of cases throughout the entire league.

The setup for the season, much like the NFL’s issues, is undoubtedly going to cause some struggle with positive cases. The NFL has had multiple games pushed back, doing their best to cancel as few as possible.

The NBA has protocols in place, and the two Warriors, one a three-time All-Star and the other their promising first-round pick, will have to quarantine at the recommended amount of time before returning to action.

With the season still quite a few days away, the Warriors won’t necessarily miss either player on opening day, but to be honest, this could be just an avalanche that continues to gain steam. Who knows how the league may take a Covid eruption.

They suspended play in March for the 2019-2020 season. They resumed it in a bubble.

Now, playing games indoors, the league will be faced with tough times ahead which could include multiple Covid-positive players on teams and missing stars, both of which could hurt their league’s primetime games.

The Warriors are fine for now, and per league rules, they’ll be without Wiseman and Green for 10 to 12 days. While the duo may not miss regular-season time, they could certainly miss the team’s first preseason match with the Nuggets on Saturday.

The NBA has protocols, and with things already starting to unravel, everyone involved will be tested as to what the right thing to do is.
