The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings met for a preseason matchup on Tuesday night. This game is the first of two games being played between the two teams in the preseason.

Man, oh man, it feels great to have basketball back, especially Warriors basketball. It feels even better when you see Stephen Curry out there playing lights out in a game that does not impact the season much.

The Warriors are now 1-1 in preseason play and could easily be 2-0 had Kyle Guy not made a buzzer-beater three to win the game. However, since this is the preseason we are talking about, it’s not as big of a deal, and neither was this game for most of the contest.

At one point, the Warriors were down by 19 points but surged for a comeback a few times. However, they could not quite get over the hump and ended up losing to Sacramento. In their last pre-season game of the year on Thursday, the Warriors will get another chance at the Kings.

Even in a loss, there were some excellent performances from some Warriors players. Some play that stood out and is making this team fun to watch already.

Warriors Good Performances

Stephen Curry, G

It is safe to say that Stephen Curry was, without a doubt, the best player on the court in this one, as he should be. Curry showed flashes of his old self with 29 points in 28 minutes of play as he scored the Warriors’ first eight points of the game. He was also responsible for 15 of the first 20 points for Golden State.

In this game, we saw the Curry that we all know. Hitting ridiculous shots and flying off screens with unlimited energy, it seems like. Along with a couple of flashy passes, like the behind the back pass to Looney for the tough finish.

Curry was able to finish with four assists and four rebounds, helping his team in both departments.

Nico Mannion, G

The second-round rookie out of Arizona played a great game against Sacramento and looked to be a reliable piece off the bench in a third unit situation. When glancing at the box score, one may see that Mannion finished with only two points. However, most of the work he in other areas of the game.

In his 14 minutes of play, Mannion finished with four assists and three rebounds. He operated the pick and roll well and showed his shiftiness on a play that got him to the basket. His plus-minus was +13, showing that even in little time, he can contribute to the team.
