Golden State Warriors: Analyzing Kent Bazemore’s role on bench
By Justin Lee
Amidst the young 2021 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors will be finishing up their pre-season play this Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.
The Golden State Warriors are looking to make a comeback at the NBA title, and they want to do it now. If you ask Draymond Green, he will tell you the same thing.
"“When I don’t win a title, that’s unsuccessful”"
This season may be more complicated than years past, with some new faces around and familiar ones not. The Warriors added Kelly Oubre to the squad after yet another season-ending injury to Klay Thompson. Let’s not forget the addition of the second overall pick in this past years draft in James Wiseman. A young big man who is projected to be a star.
However, to get back at the top with a shiny Larry O’Brien trophy in their hands, the Warriors need to make their bench a little bit better. The second unit for Golden State last season was not the best we have seen, but there will be significant upgrades this season.
One of the new players added to this Warriors team is Kent Bazemore, who fans may already know.
The 31-year-old wing from Dominion has been on the Warriors before, where he played two seasons. In those 105 games, Bazemore only averaged two points a game. His stent with the Warriors was at the beginning of his career. It is safe to say that his game has grown a lot since 2013, and he is now a highly respected veteran around the league.
After being with the Warriors, Bazemore was traded to the Lakers, where he played 23 games. Following that season, Bazemore signed a deal with the Hawks, where he spent five seasons.
Since being with Atlanta, Bazemore has now been with three teams in three seasons. However, he is looking to be a part of the Warriors’ success this season.
