3 low-cost, must-add players that could make a difference for the Golden State Warriors
Frank Kaminsky
The Golden State Warriors could use additional shooting in their frontcourt, and Frank Kaminsky and Dragan Bender are the two names that could be brought in for minimum value that jump out as top prospects that never truly reached their potential.
After his dominance at Wisconsin, Kaminsky ended up as the ninth-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Kaminsky played four seasons with Charlotte before he, like Bender and Chriss, spent some time in Phoenix.
During his peak in the league, Kaminsky averaged 11.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The problem is that this season he shot under 40 percent from deep despite shooting over 32 percent deep. He upped that to 38 percent the next season.
Kaminsky has averaged over a three per game his past four seasons. He’d provide the shooting, and the Warriors need it. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins haven’t done the trick quite yet, and they need to add shooting to distract from Stephen Curry’s polarizing dominance.
Kaminsky and Bender may be able to help a little bit. Kaminsky re-signed with the Suns, so he’s not on the market yet, but he will be a buyout target at some point this season.
